    Hi,

Unfortunately no, the copy paste functionality is from between projects in the app itself and pasting from Excel would have unexpected results.

    Hi John,

I have seen this happen before and the only fix I know is to uninstall / reinstall the app by removing it in Site Contents, then re-adding as normal.

    Hello Mike,

I have extensively tested Bulk Edit using IE 9/10/11 (it was originally designed to support even IE8, but I no longer support that), it is possible that your SharePoint site / domain name is configured for “Compatibility View” or in “Trusted Sites” and some non-default restrictions are enforced for those sites.

You can confirm that from respectively Options -> Compatibility View Settings, or Options -> Internet Options -> Security.

If you can test removing the site from either of those that should fix any issues.

    HTH,
    Martin

    Hello Amit,

That sounds to me like it is caused by the timezone, let me do some testing as if there is a discrepancy between the timezone that the app is saving based on the configured time zone in your instance that could result in the value (e.g. midnight on the given date) resulting in an actual date / time prior or ahead of that.

    Hello Aaron,

Okay can you tell me a couple of things, firstly what are the names of some of the lookup tables and their associated custom fields? Any special characters or similar? This issue may be caused by one field having a name that cannot be mapped easily to OData, for example the field name “Project Id” would map in OData to “ProjectId2” to prevent conflicts, similarly names with spaces, underscores and periods are modified. Previously these names have caused some issues in Bulk Edit.

Secondly you can get more information in the browser “developer console”, F12 in IE or Chrome, then click the Console tab and then reload the page. Here you will see some more details of any errors occurring during loading, if you could copy / paste that here that would help me help you.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Mary,

Your version of Project Server is definitely supported by Bulk Edit, so the problem may be the site collection in which you are attempting to install the app, it must be in a PWA site collection and not for example a standard SharePoint team site or App Catalog site. In either of those latter cases you would see this error.

Additionally as Project Server add-in’s require the PWA site collection features, some SharePoint add-in features such as app-stapling (where an app is installed for all sites of a type) will not work and you will see this error.

You may need to check with your SharePoint administrator if you are unsure about any of the above configurations.

If none of that helps then try the following: When installing the add-in from the SharePoint store, select the English (US) language version.

    I hope that helps,
    Martin

    Hi,

This bug was fixed in a recent update, so can you confirm the version that you have installed? Is it the latest version? To check open Site Contents and from the bulk edit tile select info or details to see the version number installed.

If there is a newer version available it will show there.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi,

Yes you definitely can update ECF with lookup tables, both multi-value and single choice.

However I do believe there is a bug with some non-text based lookup table values, so can you confirm what type of values your lookup table contains?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi,
Are you able to add these fields to a PDP and edit their values there? I have just tested that myself and I cannot for SP Task List Projects.

What you will find is that even the out of the box fields cannot be edited in a SharePoint Task List project in the normal fashion. These projects do not have the typical check-in / check-out project server functionality, so for that reason the custom fields must be configured specially.

Please check that the fields you are trying to edit do have “Allow editing on Project Details pages for SharePoint Tasks List Projects” enabled and then retest.

    Thank you,

    Hi,

Make sure you double click on a given cell, however if the project row is greyed-out then the project is checked out to another user and cannot be edited until it is checked back in.

    I hope that helps,

    Hi,

Bulk Edit does support updating custom fields for SharePoint task list projects, however these fields need to be configured specifically for this, so in this case can you check the Enterprise Custom Fields that you are trying to edit under Server Settings and confirm if they have the check-box enabled “Allow editing on Project Details pages for SharePoint Tasks List Projects” in the details section of the configuration.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello,

You can remove the app from Site Contents under the PWA site that it is installed in, just locate the Bulk Edit tile / list in site contents and from the menu click remove.

    Hi,

Project Server 2013 SP1 is very old (released Feb 2014) so I would strongly recommend upgrading to a newer patch level, but as far as I know the error message above indicates that you are trying to install the app in a non-PWA site collection.

Please check where you are adding the bulk edit app, if it is not under a /PWA site collection (or whatever you have provisioned it as) then try again there.
